James Clarence Heskett

JAMES CLARENCE HESKETT, 69, of Aiken, SC died on January 1, 2011 at his residence. Born June 18, 1941 in Loudoun County, VA, he was the son of the late James H. and Janie Bolt Heskett. James was a devoted husband and father – a good friend and neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with his hands, all types of construction. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he never met a stranger. James will be sorely missed by family and friends. He retired from Barber & Ross of Winchester, VA after 35 years of service. In addition to his wife, Mae Jeannette Heskett, he is survived by son, Dennis E. Ott, Sr., of Aiken, SC; two sisters, Lucy Petitt of Alexandria, VA and Janie Utterback of Roundhill, VA; three grandchildren, Dennis E. Ott, Jr. of Roncerverte, WV, Ashley Ott Gregory and husband, Byrnes, of Aiken, SC and Turner James Ott of Anniston, AL; two great-grandchildren, Jadon Blake Ott and Brannon Tyler Gregory, of Aiken, SC. James was preceded in death by brother, Bruce Heskett, and great-granddaughter, Peyton Taylor Gregory. Services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11 AM at the Melvin T. Strider Funeral Home at 310 S. Fairfax Blvd. in Ranson, WV with Pastor B. G. Turner officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery of Hamilton, VA. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home at 310 S. Fairfax Blvd. in Ranson, WV.
