Josephine Elizabeth DeMasi

AIKEN, SC -- JOSEPHINE ELIZABETH PONTILENA DeMASI, 95, widow of Richard Anthony DeMasi, Sr., died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Orange, NJ, Mrs. DeMasi was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Irene Serpico Pontilena. She was a comunicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church where she was a former member of the choir and member of Knights of Columbus Council 3684 Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Aiken Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Richard Anthony (Marguerite) DeMasi, Jr. of Blythewood, SC and Robert Benedict (Terri) DeMasi of Wagener, SC, four grandchildren; Richard A. (Katherine) DeMasi III, Suzette (Giulio) Gianturco, Jamie J. (Melanie) DeMasi and Karly R. DeMasi, and six great-grandchildren; Richard A. DeMasi IV, Nicolas P. DeMasi, Mimi L. DeMasi, Evan P. DeMasi, Marco M. Gianturco and Nina V. Gianturco. Funeral services will be held Friday January 7, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
