Mary Sue Beam

NEW ELLENTON, SC – MARY SUE BEAM, 84, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Carriage Hills Plantation. A native of Shelby, NC, Mrs. Beam was a daughter of the late Torrance and Elsie Viola Blanton Morehead. She had lived in Aiken County since 1951 and was retired from E. I. DuPont after 25 years service. Mrs. Beam was one of the first 4 employees of the SRP Credit Union. Mrs. Beam was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Canipe and three brothers, Gorman, Julian and James Morehead. Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, David “Gene” Beam, her daughter, Donna (Rick) Fowler, son, Chris (Dawn) Beam, granddaughters, Ashley (Josh) Miller, Kristy (Jeremy) Owens, Tara Beam and Kristen Beam and a great-grandson, Caleb Miller. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 1:00 PM at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church with The Rev.’s Jim Duncan and Gary Romines officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Beam, Van Beam, Phil Beam, Craig Morehead, Jeremy Owens, Josh Miller, Lee Josey and Phillip Dixon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
