AIKEN, SC -- DOROTHY WEST LEDBETTER, 74, beloved wife of Harry E. Ledbetter, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Farmer City, IL, Mrs. Ledbetter was a daughter of the late Burless E. and Opha Taylor West. She had lived in Aiken since 1957. She was a retired secretary for Special Programs for the Aiken County School District. Mrs. Ledbetter was a member of First Baptist Church, Aiken Shrine Club Ladies of the Nobles and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Harry, include a daughter, Kimberly L. Wyszynski, Aiken, a son, John Eric (Belinda B.) Ledbetter, Aiken, three grandchildren, Benjamin A. Wyszynski, Kyle A. Wyszynski and Brittany Lynn Ledbetter and a brother, Richard E. West, Taipei, Taiwan. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim West and a sister, Betty Turner.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Aiken's First Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating.
