NEW ELLENTON - Mr. Charles Vallas Jeancake, 61, died Sunday, January 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Finley Limehouse officating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Wolf, Lyle Tyler, Wayne Ussery, James Parrish, Dr. Charles McGahee, Mark Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Greene and Harry Spires. A son of George and Sophie Vallas Jeancake, Mr. Jeancake was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, a general manager for Triad Specialty, and a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He was a 1967 graduate of Aiken high School, attended USCA, and was a member of Williston Country Club. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was married for over 40 years to his beloved wife, Lynn Stacey Jeancake. He was commonly called Charlie or Coach, having been a youth coach in many sports for over 15 years in the 1980's and 1990's. During those years he mentored the boys along with his son to become caring men like the one he was. He had three special friends that shared his life like brothers; Lyle Tyler, Jeff Wolf and Wayne Ussery. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Casey Jeancake, Aiken; a son, Chris (Candace) Jeancake, Savannah, GA; one grandchild, Anna Sophia Jeancake; a sister, Connie Batayias, Brookfield, WI; a brother, Nickolas G. (Debra) Jeancake, Aiken; niece, Michelle Crabtree, Charleston, SC; nephews, Paxson Jeancake, Sacramento, CA, Nicholas, Eddie and George Batayias, Brookfield, WI.
