Jerry L. Devine

Mr. Jerry L. Devine, 67, of Crosby Road, Aiken SC died January 18, 2011 at the Medical College of Georgia due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jerry was born on December 8, 1943 to Walter and Evelyn Hendrick Devine. He was a US Marine veteran having served in Vietnam as a 1st Lieutenant after graduating from NC State University. He retired to the Aiken area in the early 1990’s and was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Jerry’s interests included playing bridge and researching his family history. He had also become a certified firearms instructor where he proudly drew upon his father’s accomplishments as a US Marine pistol champion. He is survived by an aunt, Janett Kendrick of New Ellenton SC, and an uncle, Hal Hendrick of Shelby NC, and numerous cousins in the Devine and Hendrick families. Memorials in memory of Jerry may be made to Millbrook Baptist Church, Aiken SC or to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Shelby NC.
