Geraldine Vinson Hamilton

N. AUGUSTA - Mrs. Geraldine Vinson Hamilton, 83, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Grace Fellowship Church, N. Augusta, with the Reverend Paul Hamilton and the Reverend Phillip Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be staff and friends at Hammond House. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Union, SC, a daughter of the late Silas Russell and Cora Lou Gossett Vinson. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Aiken. She is survived by her daughter, Margie (Mike) Thompson, Augusta; five sons, Russell (Carolyn) Hamilton, Aiken, the Reverend Phillip (Diana) Hamilton, N. Augusta, the Reverend Paul (Vickie) Hamilton, Orangeburg, SC, David Vinson Hamilton, N. Augusta, Timothy H. (Jamie) Hamilton, Ridge Spring, SC; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Kate Vinson (Bill) Jacobsen, N. Augusta; close family friend, Earl Lockhart; and her beloved dog, Hambone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Hamilton, and a sister, Betty Davis; two brothers, Edward I. Vinson and Baxter Belton Vinson.
