Max Gardner Harrington

AIKEN – Mr. Max Gardner Harrington, 85, of Aiken, SC died Friday, April 20, 2007 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, April 22 in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, Hayne Ave. Reverend Mike Chandler will officiate. Interment will be at 5:00 PM in Frederick Memorial Gardens, Gaffney, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Mr. Harrington was born in Anson County, NC, a son of the late E.J. “Buck” and Pearl Turner Harrington. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, and moved to Aiken in 1952. He was a retired foreman at SRP with E.I. DuPont, a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, a Mason, active in the Farm Bureau, and enjoyed farming. Survivors include his beloved wife Ailleen Jolley Harrington; a son, Tony W. (Susan) Harrington, Mooresboro, NC; two grandchildren, Sara Ailleen Harrington and Max Turner Harrington; a sister, Sybil Bowen, Apex, NC; two brothers, Nelson Harrington, and Boots Harrington, both of Gaffney.
