James Raymond Ross

AIKEN - Mr. James R. Ross, 76, died Friday, March 11, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday at St. Johns United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. George K. Howle officiating. The family will then receive friends in Ward Hall. Interment will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Aiken Singers. Mr. Ross was born in Milwaukee, WI, a son of the late Raymond and Catherine Zaremba Ross. He had been a resident of Aiken since 2000, and spent most of his life working in advertising and sales. As a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, he was on the Church Council. He was also a member of the Senior Men's Club, the Essential Trimmers Support Group, a Public Information Officer for the Aiken County Red Cross and member of the Board of Directors, and was on the Aiken Hospital Auxiliary. Mr. Ross is survived by his beloved wife, Shelby Smith Ross; a step daughter, Jennifer Alyssa Halcame, Loveland, CO; two step sons, David Anthony (Renee) Halcame, Appling, GA, Christopher Troy Halcame, Augusta, GA; six grandchildren, Blake Halcame, Tyler Halcame, Madison Halcame, Amp Gonzales, Conner Holcomb, Savannah Halcame.
