Thomas Willis, Sr.

AIKEN – Mr. Thomas Edward Willis, Sr., 78, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Heartland Hospice, Augusta, GA. Funeral services will be held at 300 PM Tuesday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Brancie Stephens will officiate. Interment will follow in Historic Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Maurice Peace, Houston Brown, Clayton Moseley, Quinn Baldy, Clifford Melton, Rodney Melton. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Highlandville Baptist Church, South Aiken Baptist Church and Millbrook Baptist Church. Mr. Willis was born in Aiken, SC, a son of the late Austin and Pearl Willis. He was a farm equipment salesman and a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Jan W. (Fred) Kennedy, N. Augusta, SC, Jill W. (David) Jett, Aiken, Julie Willis (Richard A. Moler), Aiken; a son, Thomas Edward (Deidra) Willis, Jr., Douglasville, GA; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Lorice Van Wormer, Clausson, MI, Dorice Kieupelis, Hialeah, FL, Louise Willis, Dunn, NC, Helen Haid, Martinez, GA, Joan Willis, Hartwell, GA; and a brother, Bobby Willis, Houston, TX. In addition to his parents, his wife, Inez Mote Willis, preceded him in death. Memorials may be directed to Parkers Residential Care Center, 935 Pineview Dr. SE, New Ellenton, SC 29809.
