Hilton Bazzle

AIKEN, SC – HILTON BAZZLE, 86, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Aiken Regional Centers. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Ellen Floyd Bazzle, and two sisters; Juanita Bazzle Cook, and Betty Jean Peterson. A native of Allendale, SC, Mr. Bazzle was a son of the late Hughey B. and Posey Wilson Bazzle. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in North Africa. Mr. Bazzle retired from the Gregg Division of Graniteville Company and was a member of the American Legion Post 63. He was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church where he served as an usher for many years and was a member of the Stair Climbers Sunday School Class. He volunteered with ACTS and Habitat for Humanity. His hobbies included gardening, fishing and just being outdoors. He is survived by a daughter, Shirley Bazzle (Ken Sr.) Lake, Aiken, two sisters, Marguerite Simpson and Iola (Otto) Morton, Aiken, two brothers, Charles V. (Eunice) Bazzle, Prattville, AL, and Bill (Diane) Bazzle, North Augusta, SC. A grandson, Kenneth W. (Michelle) Lake, Jr., Lexington, SC, two special “grandchildren”, Liz Sacks Bunn (Alex), Hartsville, SC, Alex Sacks, Aiken; three great grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Lake and Kenneth William Lake III, Lexington, SC and Robert Bunn, Hartsville, SC; a special niece, Traci Bazzle (David) Vining, Augusta, GA, and a number of other nieces and nephews and a special friend, Margaret Hutto, Belvedere. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Steve Gillette officiating. Interment will follow in Graniteville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Morton, Craig Cook, Alex Sacks, Brooks Bazzle, Troy Bazzle, Blake Hamrick and Thomas Arthur.
