Edna Ruth Zimmerman

AIKEN, SC -- RUTH WEST ZIMMERMAN, 82, widow of Joseph A. Zimmerman, Sr., died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Monroe County, TN, Mrs. Zimmerman was a daughter of the late R. E. and Tina Dalton West. She had lived in Aiken since 1958 and was a homemaker. Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she served as president of the Joy Circle and was a nursery worker for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Rosina Zimmerman and a son, Joseph A. Zimmerman, Jr., both of Aiken, a granddaughter, Jennifer Zimmerman, three sisters; Lucille Witt, Chattanooga, TN, Mildred Hamby, Cleveland, TN, Marjorie Brown, Tellico Plains, TN and two brothers; Donald West, Tellico Plains, TN and Dale West, Etowah, TN. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church with The Rev.'s Dr. Rodney K. Powell and John Culp officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
