AIKEN, SC -- JANE PARNELL, 43, of Aiken, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at MCG Hospital in Augusta surrounded by her family.
Born in Sumter, SC, Jane was a daughter of Emma Ray Parnell. She was a graduate of Cobb County High School and a degree in Dental Hygiene from Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta, GA. She had lived in Aiken since 1972 and was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her mother Emma of Aiken, two brothers; Chris Parnell and Andy (Andy) Parnell, both of Aiken, three uncles, O. W. Ray, Aiken, David (Denise) Ray, Sandersville, GA and Wilbur (Cindy) Ray, Prosperity, SC, special friends, Guy and Ginny Milner, Atlanta, GA and her beloved dachshund, Heidi.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home on East Pine Log Rd. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at South Aiken Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Christopher Crotwell officiating assisted by The Rev. Judy Bowling. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Ray, Wylie Ray, Dustin Ray, Charlie Wilson, Charlie Richards and Raymond Alford, Jr.
The family would like to thank the Cedar Creek Church Family for being a great source of support for many years during Jane's illness.
