Jessie Sanford Martin Johnson

GRANITEVILLE, SC - Mrs. Jessie Sanford Martin Johnson, 90, died Saturday, April 23, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Montmorenci, Montmorenci, SC with the Reverend Wako Cotney, the Reverend Todd Smith, and the Reverend Tommy Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Martin, Jr., Robbie Martin, Tim Martin, Michael Fulmer, Keith Fulmer, Ron Medlock, Christopher Brewer and Jamie Bodiford. Mrs. Johnson was born in Orangeburg, SC, a daughter of the late William Arthur and Minnie Alice Judy Sanford. She was a seamstress for Aiken Industries, a member of First Baptist Church of Montmorenci where she was director of the WMU and chair of the hostess committee. She was a loving and caring Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Most of all she loved and walked with the Lord as was portrayed throughout her life. She is survived by her two daughters, Jeannette (Bruce) Jernigan, Lexington, SC, Thelma (Marshall) Fulmer, Graniteville, SC; three sons, Blenn (Elizabeth) Martin, Montmorenci, SC, Waymon (Carolyn) Martin, Lexington, SC, Kenneth (Ruth) Martin, Aiken, SC; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Nell Still, Hilda, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, W.Everette Martin, and her second husband, Victor Johnson.
