AIKEN, SC -- HOLLACE LOTT FLEETWOOD, 89, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Born in Monetta, SC, Mrs. Fleetwood was a daughter of the late John Wilkes and Willie Mae Fox Lott. She was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and retired after 31 years from the SC Department of Social Services, Child Welfare Services Division. She founded Aiken County's Foster Parent Association and formerly served on the Boards of Directors of the Aiken Child Development Center and the Inter-Disciplinary Team for Foster Children. She received the Outstanding State Retiree Award from the SC State Employee's Aiken Chapter in 1986-97 and was named South Carolina's Outstanding State Retiree in 1988. Mrs. Fleetwood was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church from 1952 to 2007 and was currently a member of Chime Bell Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Fleetwood, Aiken, a son, Gary (Brenda) Fleetwood, Windsor, four grandchildren; Andrew (Jasmine) Fleetwood, Patience Watson, Benjamin Fleetwood and April Hankey and five great-grandchildren; Chelsea Watson, Chance Watson, Hannah Watson, Noelle Fleetwood and Sage Fleetwood.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Reverend Gary Fleetwood officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Fulmer, Tim Blank, Andrew Duncan, Larry East, Henry Lowe and Woody Day. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
