NEW ELLENTON, SC -- DORIS BRUNELLE WRENN BUZHARDT, 86, beloved wife of C. Grady Buzhardt, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Born in Donalds, SC, Mrs. Buzhardt was a daughter of the late James A. and Mallie Moore Wrenn. She grew up in Ware Shoals, SC and attended Winthrop College. She worked at Reigel Textiles in Ware Shoals prior to her marriage and moving to Aiken in 1958. She and her husband moved to New Ellenton in 1965. Mrs. Buzhardt was a retired administrative clerk with E. I. DuPont at the Savannah River Plant. After retirement she returned to the Site and worked for Westinghouse for a few years. Not only was she a precious mother but also an active and faithful member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church for 45 years and was formerly very active as a Sunday School Teacher and WMU Director and also worked with Vacation Bible School, the G.A.'s and Acteens.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Grady, include a daughter, Nancy (Alan) Bishop, Jackson, SC, a son, John (Jeannee) Buzhardt, Aiken, two granddaughters; Amanda Wrenn (Brian) Brown, Greenwood, SC and Rose Marie Buzhardt, Aiken, a sister, Hazel Hamilton, Travelers Rest, SC, a brother, William Erby Wrenn, Piedmont, SC and a dear family friend, Susie Scott, Williston, SC. She was preceded in death by a son, David T. Wrenn and two brothers; Rev. John A. Wrenn and James A. Wrenn.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church in New Ellenton, with The Rev.'s Brantley Bryan and Frank Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan Bishop, Don Bishop, Mark Griffith, Terrell Eaves, Mark Pope and Brian Adams. Honorary
