AIKEN, SC -- FENTON F. FERGUSON, 83, beloved husband of Jacquelyn Goddard Ferguson, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro, SC.
A native of Copper Hill, TN, Mr. Ferguson was a son of the late Adolphus Alexander and Beatrice Magnolia Weaver Ferguson. He was a veteran of both, the U. S. Army and Air Force. Fenton had lived in Aiken since 1969 and was the former food services director at Aiken County Hospital and Aiken Regional Medical Centers. After his retirement he worked at R. E. Phelon Company for 10 years. He then worked at Publix where he cooked breakfast for the senior citizens every Wednesday, until his health no longer would allow it.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Jackie, include three daughters, Judy Cooper, Terry Heslip and Susan (Ken) Horres; a son, Randall (Delia) Ferguson; all of Aiken, eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Neysa (Max) Willocks, Phoenix, AZ and Brenda (Larry) Dobson, Leesburg, FL; and a brother, Gayle (Juanita) Ferguson, Maryville, TN.
A memorial service will be held Monday, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Windsor with The Rev.'s Wako Cotney and Jimmy Wingate officiating.
