Roy Corbitt

AIKEN - Mr. Roy Corbitt, 56, died Friday, June 17, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church wit the Reverend Elroy Wilson and the Reverend Eddie Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews and cousins. Flower girls will be nieces and cousins. Mr. Corbitt was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, and a son of the late Willie Jackson and Sadie Mae Corbitt. He attended Aiken County public schools was a textile worker. He is survived by eight sisters, Mary Lewis, Jackson, SC, Willie Jean (Bernard) Bates, Jackson, Leola Corbitt, New Ellenton, Linda Corbitt, Jackson, Elizabeth McCorkle, New Ellenton, Emma Corbitt, Augusta, GA, Betty (Jimmy) Ashley, Jackson, Bertha Peeples, Bamberg, SC; a brother, Edgar (Carolyn) Corbitt, New Ellenton; special friend, Mary Hazel, New Ellenton; aunt and uncle, Pastor Leola and Deacon Paul Williams, Savannah, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
