Cole Matthew Nickell, Jr.

AIKEN - Cole Matthew Nickell Jr., 7 weeks old, passed away on Saturday June 18 at the Medical University of South Carolina and is now with his Lord Jesus. Born on April 28, 2011, Matthew surprised the doctors by surviving two major surgeries in his first month. His parents Cole Matthew Nickell Sr and Julia Marshall Nickell are grateful for the time God gave them with Matthew. Other surviving relatives include his sister Claire; grandparents Charles and Dana Nickell and Calvin and Susan Marshall; great grandparents Bettye Nickell and Carl and Mary Anne DuBose; uncles and aunts Ryan Nickell, Chad Nickell, Julia Nickell, Cal and Rochelle Marshall, Sam Marshall, and James Marshall; and cousins Caroline and Bruton Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at New Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Mike Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. The family has requested that donations be made to the New Covenant Presbyterian Church Youth Fund, 526 Hitchcock Pkwy., Aiken, SC 29801.
