AIKEN-Janice Sligh Bacot, 70, died June 4 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bob Byrne officiating. Interment will follow at Historic Bethany Cemetery, downtown, Aiken. She was born in Columbia, SC to the late Ernest Eldridge and Nellie Raynor Sligh. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Delta Kappa Gamma,
Sunshine Garden Club, Aiken Bridge Clubs, past member of Aiken Jayceetes, former teacher and assistant principal at East Aiken Elementary and Millbrook Elementary Schools. Survivors include her loving husband, Daniel Pons Bacot, Sr. and beloved children, Allison (Greg) Smith, Amy Lindler, and Daniel Pons (Veronika) Bacot, II, of Columbia, SC. Other survivors include grandchildren, Caroline Lindler, Christi Lindler, Sloan Rhyne Lindler, Sullivan Daniel Lindler, Sasha Nicole Bacot, Eugene Simontsev and two sisters, Joy Sligh Poore, North Charleston, SC and Martha Sligh (Charlie) Montgomery, Johnson City, TN.
