Mildred "Millie" W. Talbert
FOSTORIA, OH - Mrs. Mildred "Millie" Weymouth Talbert, 92, died July 7, 2011 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
Born in West Liberty, OH, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Andrew and Lulu Elizabeth Harner Weymouth. She was a lifelong resident of Fostoria, OH and retired from RCA in 1980. A fun, loving lady, Millie never met a stranger and loved everyone she met, as evidenced by the many ways she served in her community.
She was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Charter member of Senior Ohio Child Conservation League, serving from 1950 until its dissolution in 1997, a member of Good Shepherd Home Auxiliary, a long time member of Fostoria Women's Club, and a volunteer with Fostoria Community Hospital Auxiliary ( 1992-2007 ) with over 4,500 hours of service. Millie loved music, traveling, animals, playing bridge and other games, but what she loved second only to her family was WINNING!
Millie called Aiken her second home, visiting regularly for the past thirty years. She was a familiar face at St. John's United Methodist Church and enjoyed taking part in various projects sponsored by Sand River Woman's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Carl Talbert, sister, Martha Elizabeth Weymouth and a brother, Karl H. Weymouth. She was the loving mother of Rebecca Talbert (Royal) Robbins, Aiken, SC and Martha Talbert Gwyn, Fostoria, OH.
Other survivors include her beloved granddaughters, Rene' Elizabeth Robbins (Charles) Frick, Lexington, SC, Elly Kay Gwyn-Bauschka (Shane Patrick), Toledo, OH, great granddaughters, Lauryn Elizabeth Yarad, Toledo, OH, Ashlyn Elizabeth Frick, Rebecca Grace Frick both of Lexington, SC, nieces, Nancy Weymouth Thompson and Rhoda Weymouth Swiger.
A memorial service will take place in Fostoria on August 20 at 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church with The Rev. Michael N. Malcosky officiating. Inurnment will be private at Houston Cemetery, Forest, OH.
A celebration of her life will be held in Aiken at the home of Becky and Royal Robbins on July 21 from 5 to 7 PM.
