AIKEN – Mrs. Veronica Mary Vincent Mellema, 81, died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, June 19, at Millbrook Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Eddie Leopard and Reverend Mike Chandler will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Millbrook Chapel Sunday School Class. Mrs. Mellema was born in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Warren Charles and Martha Schrieber Vincent. She was a resident of Aiken since 2001, and a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Survivors include her beloved husband, Kenneth Mellema; a daughter, Sondra Ann (Patrick) Mellema-Higgins, Pittsburgh, PA; two sons, Scott Allen (Jane) Mellema and Mark Steven Mellema, both of Byers, CO; five grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Van Clay, Chicago, IL.
