AIKEN, SC -- OPAL MOORE BABB, 87, widow of Roy Babb, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, 3 days shy of her 88th birthday at UniHealth PAC of Aiken. Born in Seminary, MS, Mrs. Babb was a daughter of the late Milford Oliver and Frances Callie Lott Moore. She grew up in Hattiesburg, MS and had lived in Aiken since 1951. She was a retired payroll clerk with Help, Inc., and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church for 60 years. Survivors include two daughters, Janis Lott, Aiken and Marcia Baxley, Columbia; a son, David Babb, Aiken; three grandchildren, Natalie Mathewson, Aiken, Callie Baxley, Columbia and Alexandra Babb, Wilmington, NC and a great-grandson, Spencer Lapointe, Aiken. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held Saturday morning prior to a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at St. John's United Methodist Church.
