Marlene Goodwin Leinster

Aiken - Mrs. Marlene ( Marlie ) G Leinster, entered into rest August 28, 2011. A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, September 2, 2011 at St Thaddeus Episcopal Church. Officiating at the service will be The Reverends Grant Wiseman and Joseph Whitehurst. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St Thaddeus Music Program, 125 Pendleton St., Aiken, SC 29801. Marlie was a 1964 graduate of Binghamton University and held several professional positions to include high school teacher of English Literature, a catering business, owner of a bagel business in Baltimore, Md. and a real estate agent in Reston, Va. Marlie was a member of the 9-hole ladies golf group at The Reserve Club at Woodside Plantation and attended St Thaddeus Episcopal Church. Additionally, Marlie loved to cook and entertain her friends in her home. She was a vibrant and engaging person and will be sorely missed. Survivors include her husband, Bruce; a daughter, Raea Jean, Arlington, Va; a son, Christopher Charles, Denver, Co; his wife Shelley and their 4 year old son, Zeke and her beloved miniature schnauzer puppy, Ginger. Marlie is also survived by her sister, Barbara Van Nortwick; her husband David and their 2 children Kimberly Rossman ( and her husband Mark ) and Craig Van Nortwick ( and his wife Angela ).
