Edwin "Buddy" Forest Brock

AIKEN – Mr. Edwin Forest “Buddy” Brock, 89, died Friday, September 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tresco Shannon and the Reverend Robert Scroggs officiating. Interment with military honors and Masonic Rites will follow in the St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Ellenton. Pallbearers will be Tommy Brock, Melvin Brock, Roy Phillip Brock, Jr., Rick Crosby, Ross Kight and Lois Morris. Mr. Brock was born in Union, SC, a son of the late Thomas and Lilly Mae Barnett Brock. He was a resident of Aiken since 1951, and was a nuclear reactor operator for E.I. DuPont at the Savannah River Plant. He also served in the US Navy during WWII, was a member of the New Ellenton Masonic Lodge, and a member of St. Paul United Methoidst Church.. He is survived by his daughter, Janet (Allan) Brock Kight, New Ellenton; two sons, Roy (Christine) Brock, Williston, Eugene (Terri) Brock, Aiken; 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Mabel) Brock, Buffalo, SC, Hamp Brock, Jonesville, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Ruth Brock, a son, James David Brock, three brothers and a sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Savannah River Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 3694, Aiken, SC 29802, or to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 600 Main St., New Ellenton, SC 29809.
