AIKEN - Mrs. Louise Johnson Thompson, 75, of Aiken, entered into rest Friday, September 23, 2011, with her family at her side. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5. After a short illness, joy came for Louise. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Bill Thompson. She was the daughter of the late Odell and Modene Campbell Johnson. She has been a resident of Aiken since 1952. She was employed by SRNS where she has been an Administrative Assistant for over 27 years. Louise was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, and loved singing in the choir. She was a member of the SC Square Dance Association for over 25 years. She was very talented and loved to sew. In her years at SRNS, she has played an active part in the yearly Toys For Tots drive and the annual United Way Campaign. Louise’s most enjoyable moments have been spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Stephen Bruce, Aiken; a daughter, Debra (Fred) Bunton, Soperton, GA and three grandchildren, Nicole, Daniel and Lauren Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Memorial Baptist Church, 3100 Vaucluse Rd., Aiken, SC 29801, with the Reverend Charles Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Clyde Willing, Tom McGreary, Wallace Fortson, O.W. Ray, Ralph Moseley and Ben Rhoden. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Moderates Sunday School Class.
