AIKEN, SC -- WINTHROP ANDREW "ANDY" WILLIS, 65, beloved husband of Diane Carpenter Willis, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Andy was a son of the late Winthrop S. and Ruby New Willis. He retired from Bechtel at the Savannah River Site, and was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church and Aiken Masonic Lodge #156. Andy loved fishing on Lake Murray and enjoyed many fish fries with family and friends. He also enjoyed working in his yard and gardening. Survivors, in addition to his wife Diane, include a son, Mike (Beverly) Willis, Aiken; two grandchildren, Sumter and Jackson Sessoms; three sisters, Sandy (Charlie) Priester, Lake Murray, Judi (Ben) Stewart, Aiken, and Deborah (Juandail) Kirby, Aiken and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Eddie Willis. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in Aiken's First Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Busbee, Ronnie Raum, Dick Chelchowski, Tom Aaron, Ben Stewart and Juandail Kirby. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Aiken Masonic Lodge #156. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
