Kenneth Wayne Boren

Aiken - Mr. Kenneth Wayne Boren, 81, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in Newberry, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Fred Andrea III officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Mr. Boren was born in Tupelo, MS, a son of the late Carl and Mary Bain Boren. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, and had been a resident of Aiken for over 50 years. He was a supervisor in the Heavy Water Department at the Savannah River Site. Mr. Boren loved his wife, children and grandchildren, and enjoyed drag racing and playing golf. His second home was at Lake Murray and his passion was working in his garden. He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Georgia Sue Bryant Boren; son, David (Kathi) Boren, Prosperity, SC; two grandchildren, Jacob Lee Boren and Kassye Love Boren; a great grandchild, Kaslei Brooke Boren; a sister, Frances Luther, Mantachie, MS; a brother, Reverend Lindon Boren, Mantachie, MS.
