AIKEN, SC – THELMA RODGERS SNIPES, 94, widow of Alvin Judson Snipes, died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at her residence.
Mrs. Snipes was a native and lifelong resident of Aiken County. She was a daughter of the late Allen and Daisey Seigler Rodgers and was retired from the Graniteville Co. She was a lifetime member of Central Baptist Church, where she was the oldest surviving member. She was a longtime Sunday School teacher and a member of the Golden Nuggets Seniors Group. She also loved quilting.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. William C. “Mildred” Robertson of Suffolk, VA, Mary Ann Ouzts and Patricia Franklin, both of Aiken, six grandchildren, Debra Ouzts, Tamra Caughman, Sondra Ouzts, Jane Robertson Davis, Allen Franklin and Regina Witters, six great-grandchildren, Sommer Franklin, Christian Franklin, Sydney Franklin, Halen Franklin, Barringer Franklin and Hayden Davis, and two brothers, Odell Rodgers of New Ellenton and Robert Rodgers of Graniteville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC. Interment will follow in Central Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caron Seigler, Frankie Goldman, Albert Bearden, Danny Rodgers, Mackie Snipes and Wyman Rodgers. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
