Vera Shropshier Wilson

AIKEN - Mrs. Vera Shropshier Wilson, 86, died Saturday, December 17, 2011. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Aiken Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Charles Byrd officiating. Mrs. Wilson was born in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Pliny and Beaulah Hughes Shropshier. She had been a resident of Aiken for the last 41 years, and worked in administrative support for South Carolina Department of Social Services. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, Garden Club, PTA, Hospital Auxiliary, and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Hendersonville, NC She is survived by her husband Leroy E. (Gene) Wilson; a daughter, Pam W. (Tom), Galardi, Aiken; a son, Greg P. (Melissa) Wilson, Austin, TX; a grandchild, Frank T. Galardi; four sisters, Madge Petit, Spartanburg, SC, Idalene Branch, Nashville, TN, Galdys Kwester, Spartanburg, Carolyn Riddle, Katy, TX; and a brother Pliny Shropshier, Santee, SC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was predeceased by a brother, Harry Shropshier. The family has requested that memorials be directed Hospice Care of South Carolina, 946 Millbrook Ave., Suite A, Aiken, SC 29803 or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
