AIKEN, SC—Laura West, 84 died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at her residence. Born in Belmont, NC, Laura was the daughter of the late Colonel Simpson Kennedy and Eunice Rippy Kennedy. She has been a resident of Aiken, SC since 1966. She was previously employed by the Department of Social Services as a caseworker. Survivors include her daughter Sharon West, Aiken, SC, sister Camilla Clarkson, Greenville, SC and brother Paul Kennedy, Greenville, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul West. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Shellhouse- Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse- Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
