Ben LaMunyon

AIKEN, SC -- BEN LaMUNYON, 84, beloved husband of Arva LaMunyon, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Anchor Health & Rehab. A native of Clayton, NM, Mr. LaMunyon was a son of the late Fred and Ruth Caudille LaMunyon. He was a graduate of New Mexico Highlands University. Ben moved to Aiken in 1966 from Overland Park, KS. He retired as Director of Finance with the Department of Energy at the Savannah River Plant. He was a longtime member and Elder of the Aiken Church of Christ. He served on the Board of Directors of Palmetto Bible Camp and was a member of Pairs & Spares. Survivors, in addition to his wife Arva, include two sons, Tim LaMunyon (Jo), Titusville, FL and Dan LaMunyon, Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren, Tara, Jacob, Josh, Lauren (Jeremy), Matt, Sydney (Josh), and Taylor, three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Britton and Mason; and two sisters, Bo Downing and Betty LaMunyon, both of Wolcott, IN. Mr. LaMunyon was preceded in death by his daughter, Sue Pinch and a sister, Billie Stewart. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Aiken Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
