John Sanchez Castillo, Jr.

AIKEN, SC - Mr. John S. Castillo, Jr., 83, died December 30, 2012. Mr. Castillo was born in Detroit, MI, a son of the late John Castillo, Sr. and Jean Elizabeth Moffett Castillo. He left the United States at an early age and grew up in Scotland until the age of 21. He returned to the U.S. and was drafted into the Army and served during the Korean War. While in Korea, he was wounded, and subsequently received a Purple Heart Medal. He then worked for the Chrysler Corporation as a plumber. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Gove Castillo; a daughter, Lesley (Ian) Klepac, Aiken; a sister, Isabel Flynn, San Antonio, TX; niece, Jean Loden; nephew, Dr. James Flynn. A private graveside service and burial was held in Bethany Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church of Warren, MI.
