Walter C. Whittle, Jr.

AIKEN - Mr. Walter C. Whittle, Jr., 78, died Thursday, January 5, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Brancie Stephens and the Reverend Charlie Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Wesley Overstreet, Charles Jones, Roland Gochicoa, Mike Whittle, Charlie Kelly, Glen Peterson. Mr. Whittle was born in Augusta, GA, a son of the late Walter C. and Lucille Elizabeth Lundy Whittle. He had been a resident of Aiken for 46 years, and was the owner of Ridge Crest Quick Shop for 26 years. He was the manager of Colonel Stores for over 30 years. He enjoyed camping, and was a loving father and "papa". He is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Jim) Cushman, Aiken; two sons, Walter C. "Bubba" (Sheila Miller) Whittle, III, Aiken, Timbo Whittle, Aiken; four grandchildren, Wesley Overstreet, Savannah "P-Nut" Elizabeth Whittle, Chris Cushman and Casey Cushman; a sister, Lucille Whittle, Atlanta, GA.
