AIKEN, SC -- BILLY KISSIAH, 83, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Chesterfield County, SC, Mr. Kissiah was a son of the late Marion Joseph and Susie Gainey Kissiah. He moved to Aiken in 1954 from Jefferson, SC. He owned Kissiah Furniture & Appliance since 1954. Mr. Kissiah was first married to the late Mary Margaret Benton Kissiah, the mother of his six boys. His second wife was the late Annie Laura Scott Kissiah. He retired from DuPont at the Savannah River Plant after 34 years of service. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors, include his six sons, Billy Don (Annie) Kissiah, Aiken, Rick (Karen) Kissiah, Barnwell, Johnnie (Stephanie) Kissiah, Aiken, Randy Lee Kissiah, New Ellenton, Jackie (Edna) Kissiah, Aiken and David (Kathy) Kissiah, Ft. Worth, TX; 31 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Moseley, Chester, SC and Bobbie (Henry) Hinson, Bethune, SC and a special friend and care giver, Ms Carrie Hunt. In addition to his parents and two wives, Mr. Kissiah was preceded in death by three grandsons, Christopher Brent Kissiah, John Navaer Kissiah and Michael John Kissiah and two sisters, Clarene Johnson and Lib Starnes.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Billy & Annie Kissiah. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with The Rev.'s Bert Baynham, Charles Morris and Rick Kissiah officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Wilson, Billy Kissiah, James Kissiah, Jamie Baughman, Jordan Lassister, Robby Kissiah, Lorenzo Negrete, Richie Negrete and Josh Enochs.
