AIKEN - Mr. Frank Dale Sharp, Sr., 73, died Sunday, January 15, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Charles Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens with military honors. Pallbearers will be O.W. Ray, Tom Tyler, Bill Thompson, David Willing, Clyde Willing and Ralph Moseley. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Moderates Sunday School Class. Mr. Sharp was born in Waynesville, NC, a son of the late Ford and Frances Nelson Sharp. He served in the US Army during the Berlin Crisis. Frank moved to Aiken in 1964, and was a former fleet manager for Pet Dairy and service manager for Tyler Tire. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where he was in the Moderates Sunday School Class, served on many committees and was an usher and deacon. He loved the church and the church family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His favorite activity was spending time with his family. He also loved to hunt and fish, was an Aiken High School supporter, loved NASCAR and his 1963 Chevy truck. He was an avid USC Gamecock fan. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Arthur Sharp; a daughter, Tammy (Chris) Sanders, Aiken; a son, Frank Dale (Candi) Sharp, Jr., Aiken; four grandchildren, Christopher Adam Sanders, Sarah Elizabeth Sanders, Chandler Dale Sharp, Justin Edwin Sharp; three sisters, Lois Hannah, Old Fort, NC, Judy Sharp, Eden, NC, Louella Holland, Waynesville, NC; four brothers, Cecil Sharp, Waynesville, NC, Charlie Sharp, Fountain Inn, SC, Jimmy Sharp, Waynesville, NC, Larry Sharp, Waynesville, NC. Memorials may be directed to the Golden Harvest Food Bank, 13 Enterprise Ave., Aiken, SC 29803.
