AIKEN, SC -- MARY RUTH TAYLOR ROGERS, 82, widow of William Charles "Bill" Rogers, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center. A native of Asheville, NC, Mrs. Rogers was a daughter of the late Vinson Hestello and Laura Josephine Owenby Taylor. She had lived in Aiken since 1952 and worked as a library assistant at libraries in Aiken County, Barnwell, Bamberg, Edgefield Counties as well as the USC-Aiken Library. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Charles Dan Rogers, Aiken and Michael Joe Rogers, Aiken; two sisters, Vera Eleanor Stamey, Canton, NC and Rena Taylor Hege, Cornelius, NC and two grandchildren, William Edward Rogers and Alexander Martin Rogers. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the graveside in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jim Bennett will officiate.
