AIKEN - Mr. Wilburn Whitlock Morris, 80, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Taylor Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Morris, Benjamin Morris, James Dale, Ed Dale, Ben Bindewald, Nat Newsome, Robbie Willing, David Willing.
Mr. Morris was born in Kemper, SC, a son of the late Jerome Morris, Sr. and Florence Wilburn Morris. He was a lifelong resident of Aiken and served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. He worked as an E&I mechanic for E.I DuPont, and was a farmer, and member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Rebecca Brown Morris; a daughter, Mary Kathryn (Hervey) Granade, Aiken; two sons, John Richard (Anna) Morris, Sr., Fuquay-Varina, NC, Stephen Robert (Annette) Morris, Aiken; Esther Morris.13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Florence M. (Norman) Pursley, Lincolnton, GA, Mary Alice Lockhart, Aiken, Iris (Kenny) Newsome, Lincolnton, GA; two brothers, Jerome Morris, Jr., Aiken, Dr. William (Glenda) Morris, Spartanburg, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Marie Brown, a son, Lawrence Andrew Morris and sister, Martha Ann Burkhalter.
