George Roland Brooks

AIKEN - Mr. George Roland Brooks, 90, died Saturday, March 24, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 30 at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. Rodney K. Powell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be held in Union Springs, AL at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mr. Brooks was born in Union Springs, AL, a son of the late Alfred Roland and Alma Jane Mooney Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a former resident of Houston, TX and had been a resident of Aiken for 3 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and served in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by his children, Audrey Brooks, George R. Brooks, Stanley Brooks, Dan Brooks; sister, Thelma B. Dodson, St. Louis, MO; brothers, Allen Brooks, Aiken, Dozier (Judy) Brooks, Fountain inn, SC, Alf (Lee) Brooks, Fountain Inn, SC. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances Brooks Barbaree, and brother, Florence Gibson Brooks.
