AIKEN, SC. - Mrs. Marie A. Valletta, 91, of Aiken, South Carolina entered into rest on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Hitchcock House. She was the beloved wife of the late Silvio E. Valletta for 63 years.
Born in Oklahoma, Marie, a resident of Valley Stream, New York for 38 years, spent the last 7 ½ years in Aiken. She is the mother of Silvia Tate and mother-in-law of Tim Tate of Aiken, South Carolina. Marie has three granddaughters, Teresa Savin of San Francisco, California, Nicole Villalobos of Trinity, Florida and Melissa Tate of Taylors, South Carolina, one grandson, Matthew Tate of Cabot, Arkansas, and three great-grandsons, Logan Jowers, Parker Jowers and Ian Villalobos of Trinity Florida.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Paul Kolego, Sr., brothers John, Michael and Paul Jr., and sisters Ann Parisio and Agnes Tafner. Eight nieces and nephews mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 10, 2007 from 6 until 9 p.m. at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Road, Aiken, SC. Funeral Services will be held in Valley Stream, New York with interment on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, New York.
