AIKEN, SC -- JAMES FRED HARVEY, SR., 81, beloved husband of Elizabeth Jeannette Harvey, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his residence.
A native of Miley, SC, Mr. Harvey was a son of the late Charles Alvin and Agnes Cook Harvey. He grew up in Hampton County and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Harvey had lived in Aiken since 1960 and was retired from the Savannah River Site. He was a member of First Christian Church of Aiken.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, James F. Harvey, Jr., Clinton, TN and Donald L. Harvey, Aiken, three grandchildren, Pamela H. (Brandon) Madison, Hannah E. Harvey and Jennifer J. Harvey, five sisters, Gwendolyn Smith, Charleston, Barbara McMillan, Walterboro, Betty (Wilbur) Thomas and Jeanne (Jon Earl) Bishop both of Hampton and Jacquelin Livingston, Hudson, FL and a sister-in-law, Sara Achaia Hunter, Hampton.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at First Christian Church of Aiken with Rev. Ken McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in Soutlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service at the church.
