WINDSOR, SC -- MARION GENE MORRIS, 57, beloved husband of Florence Bauer "Sissy" Morris, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at his residence. Born in Saluda County, SC, Gene was a son of Hilda J. Moxley and the late Marion K. Morris. He was a longtime resident of Aiken County and was a horse trainer with Dogwood Stables. Gene was a farmer and the owner of Morristown Market. He was a loving father and husband. Survivors, in addition to his wife Sissy, include his mother HIlda Moxley, Blythe, GA, four daughters, Gina M. Morris, West Columbia, SC, Maria Fitzsimmons, New York, Crystal Carter, Bath and Christina Carter, Bath, four sons, Gene P. Morris, New York, William R. Parker, Grey Court, SC, Patrick Fitzsimmons, New York and Jonathan Prather, Windsor, 5 grandchildren, Jamie Spoon, Breanna Spoon, Dennis Gene Winstead, Isaiah Parker, Chastie Brown, and Amia Greene, five sisters, Margaret Wood, Windsor, Annabelle Prince, Blythe, GA, Kelley Reid, Star, SC, Kathleen Greene, Bath, and Tammy Owens, Augusta, GA and a brother, Phillip Minard, Sr., Windsor. In addition to his father, Gene was preceded in death by two sisters, Annette Gates and Lindy Ann Morris and a brother, Louis F. Morris, Sr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Shellhouse Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Morristown Cemetery near Johnston. Pallbearers will be Josh Campbell, Jason Wood, Louis F. Morris Jr., Chris Harding, Ralph Morris and James Noakes. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday at the funeral home.
