AIKEN, SC - GEORGE FRANKLIN KIDD, 91, beloved husband of Martha Osborne Kidd, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at his residence. A native of Benfield, TN, George was the son of the late Ben H. and Margaret Blanche Reaves Kidd. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Germany. He worked in Oakridge, TN before moving to Aiken in 1951. He was a retired transportation supervisor for DuPont at the Savannah River Plant. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Martha Osborne Kidd, a daughter, Margaret Ann Romine, Greenville, SC; two sons, Benny O. (Nancy A.) Kidd, Aiken, SC and George S. (Sharon J.) Kidd, Aiken, SC; 9 Grandchildren and14 Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Sue Kidd Redd. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM at Shellhouse- Rivers Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Friday, April 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Millbrook Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Eddie Leopard officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Romine, David Kidd, Kris Kidd, Brandon Redd, Ryan Thomas, Bret Wyant, & Johnny Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Whittlers.
