Beverley Harriett Ransenberg, 81, beloved wife of Friedel Fritz (Fred) Ransenberg, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at her daughter’s residence.
Born September 29, 1930 in Brockton, MA; she was the daughter of the late Norry LeRoy and Edith Caroline (Hewitt) Cox of Whitman, MA, where she grew up.
After graduating high school, Beverly went to work for AT&T Phone Company as an Information Operator. After her first marriage, she moved to California and worked for the Sea Bee’s at the naval station at Port Hueneme, CA. In 1957, she moved back to MA and was employed as a receptionist for Uniroyal Tire Co. in Dedham, MA. After 12 years, she went back to work for AT&T Phone Co. as an Information Operator again.
In 1972, Beverly H. McMahon married her second husband, Friedel Frtiz (Fred) Ransenberg in East Bridgewater, MA and moved to West Bridgewater, MA, where 2 years later they started B&F Contracting Company. They owned and operated it for 23 years along with Fred’s stepson, Robert E. McMahon, Jr.
Avid horse people, they became involved with Paso Fino horses in 1993. They began to breed and show these magnificent horses.
In 1997, she along with her husband and son moved to Aiken for the warmer climate and named their farm, Rancho de Los Querubes. Her daughter Susan joined the family in Aiken in 2004 and in 2007 she purchased the farm.
Mrs. Ransenberg was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Robert D. Cox and her eldest stepdaughter, Ilana R. Priest of Texas.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Allyce Sizemore of Aiken, SC; her son, Robert Edward McMahon, Jr., of Aiken, SC; a grandson, Cameron J. Sizemore, Graniteville, SC; two stepdaughters, Jeanette R. Warner, Dillwyn, VA and Mornica R. Plausse, Easton, MA and two granddaughters, Jennie Plausse and Julie McCafferty; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Ransenberg, Carlsbad, CA.
Services will be private.
