Dustin "Dusty" Evans Brott

N. AUGUSTA, SC - Dusty Brott, 29, passed away Tuesday, May 1. 2012 in his home in North Augusta, SC. Dusty was born in Richland, Washington and was the son of Mike and Janice Brott. He had a love of movies, music, and travel. Dusty travelled Europe upon graduating college and took a cross country trip to Grand Tetons National Park and Lake Tahoe. One of his favorite places was Savannah, GA. He shared his love of music with many people. He played for the pep band at USC Aiken. Dusty was a musician in several local bands that played in Aiken, SC and Statesboro, GA. He played drums with DejaGroove and Jam in Aura in Aiken and Blue Eyed Jane in Statesboro. While most of Dusty’s band experience on stage was spent playing drums, he was an incredible guitar and bass player as well and began his love of music with playing the piano at a young age. He idolized singer/songwriters such as Bob Dylan and the Avett Brothers. He composed many albums spanning from acoustic instrumentals to reggae to bluegrass and funk. Dusty Brott graduated from South Aiken High School in 2001, and USC Aiken in 2005 where he earned a degree in Communication Arts with a minor in music. After college he moved to North Augusta, SC where he resided with his wife Jennifer Sparling Brott. Dusty is survived by his wife Jennifer Sparling Brott, his parents Mike and Janice Brott, his sister Jessica Bragdon and her husband Robby Bragdon, as well as his nephews Cooper and Sawyer Bragdon. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 18, 2012 in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
