Margaret Herron Franklin

AIKEN – Mrs. Margaret Herron Franklin, 75, of Aiken, died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, Hayne Ave. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Brancie Stephens will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tim Greer, Keith Herron, Ronnie Herron, Toby Marks and Jackie Stone. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Kitchings, Christopher Kitchings, Jeremy Kitchings and John McLaughlin. Mrs. Franklin was a lifelong resident of Aiken, a daughter of the late John Henry and Susie Posey Herron. She retired from Automatic Switch Company, and was a former owner of The Variety Restaurant. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Steve (Donna) Kitchings, Timothy (Melissa) Kitchings, Christopher (Ann) Kitchings, all of Aiken; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Judy Marks, New Ellenton. In addition to her parents, a son, Wayne Kitchings, and a grandson, Jonathan Wayne Kitchings, preceded her in death.
