AIKEN, SC- MILDRED BURNETTE KITCHINGS,92 , widow of Woodrow Wilson Kitchings , died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center in Aiken, SC. Born in Sylvania, Georgia, Mrs. Kitchings was the daughter of the late Silas and Irene Elizabeth Osborne Burnette. She had been a resident of Aiken for 80 years and was a member of Darien Baptist Church. She was the original seamstress at Aiken Industries and retired after 40 years. She was a loving mother , grandmother, & great grandmother. Survivors include her sons Wiley (Kat) Kitchings, Augusta, GA, Wallace (LaFaye) Kitchings, Aiken, SC, Johnny (Monty)Kitchings, Graniteville, SC, Jimmy Kitchings, Aiken, SC, 7 Grandchildren, Libby Kitchings, Michelle Scott, Chris Kitchings, Gabriel Kitchings, Melanie Pniewski, Brandi Marrero, and Joey Kitchings, 6 Great Grandchildren, Lauren Scott, Julie Scott, Ansley Kitchings, Kinsley Kitchings, Grayson Kitchings, and Caden Pniewski; 2 brothers Paul Burnette, Slidell, LA & Carl (Gloria Jean) Burnette, Aiken, SC; Lifelong friend Daisy Hooker, Aiken, SC. Mrs. Kitchings was preceded in death by 2 sons, Wilson Kitchings, and Frank Kitchings a grandson, Michael Kitchings and great-granddaughter Taylor Campbell. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Shellhouse- Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse- Rivers Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion Britton officiating. Interment will follow in Darien Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Kitchings, Gabriel Kitchings, Josh Pniewski, Rick Gainey, Doug Goodman, & Donnie Moulton.
