Robert Paul Hunt

AIKEN, SC- ROBERT PAUL HUNT, Our beloved Bobby passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Jesus took away his suffering and gave Bobby his new and healed legs. Robert Paul Hunt was born Feb. 25, 1955 in Greenwood, SC. to Mr. & Mrs. William Richard Hunt (Jean). He grew up and lived most of his life in Aiken. He also lived in Edisto Beach, SC and in Greer, SC. Bobby graduated from Aiken High School. He earned an associate degree from Aiken Technical College in welding and mechanics. He worked many years for Siemens Corporation, where he achieved certification and clearance to perform highly technical welding techniques on turbines. He worked at nuclear facilities as well as other power plants. Because of his certification, Bobby was sent by Siemens to facilities across the country, as well as into other countries. Bobby was proud of the work he did as a welder/ blader. Bobby's passions were spending time at Edisto Beach, with his many close friends there, hunting sharks teeth or fishing. He also loved NASCAR, southern rock and blues music, all of the dogs that were a part of his life- especially sweet “Buddy”, Carolina Panthers football, and Carolina Gamecock sports. But what he cherished most was being a loyal husband, son, and brother. He had a tremendous and kind heart and cared deeply for his friends and family. Bobby is survived by his wife of 15 years Mary (Maria) Hunt; his parents Jean and W.R. Hunt; a sister Pam Hamilton (Jimmy) of Aiken; a brother Dickie Hunt of Clarks Hill; a nephew Alex Hamilton (Kristin) of Greenville, SC; Nephew Ricky Hunt (Julie) of Pooler, Ga; Niece Misty Magness (David) Aiken; Nephew Jimmy Hunt (Angie) Ft.Walton Beach, Fl; and many cousins. Two stepsons Michael Harper, Aiken, SC and Patrick Queen, Charlotte, NC; a step-daughter Jennifer Queen of Pelion,SC; 4 grandchildren whom he loved dearly Hannah and Logan Queen; Ryleigh and Andrian Osment all of Pelion; Other survivors include a mother-in-law, Dolores Benitez; two sisters-in law, Frances Lopez and Alice Benitez; a brother-in-law, Jon Lopez of California; and nieces and nephews in California. Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his niece Ashley Hunt. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at Cedar Creek Church, Banks Mill Road with The Rev. David Hardy officiating. The family will greet friends after the service.
