Karen Hale Simon, died June 7, 2012, at her home in Aiken, SC.
Karen was born on March 16, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Emma and Leroy Hale.
Karen will be remembered for her quick wit, spirit of adventure and the tenaciousness that allowed her to achieve top rankings in many diverse endeavors.
Karen is survived by her husband John Carl Simon of 35 years, her sister Lorraine and her husband Johnie Robinson, sister-in-law Gail and her husband Terry Sopher, sister-in-law Kathy and her husband Joseph Kane, niece Karen Marsha and her husband Matus Sulek, niece Kristy and her husband Joseph Carter, nephew Benjamin Sopher, great nephew Andrej Sulek, great niece Sofia Sulek, great nephew Joseph Carter III and numerous other family members and friends.
Karen could accomplish anything she set her mind to do. She had a compassionate heart especially for animals. Karen along with her husband Carl, rescued many animals during her lifetime and shared their home with them. Karen leaves behind her beloved pets of which she and Carl rescued.
She worked many years for T. Rowe Price in Baltimore, Maryland as Assistant Vice President and retired in January, 2000. Karen and Carl spent the first part of their retirement in Florida and then decided that they wanted to move to Aiken, SC. Together, they have enjoyed their gardens, the outdoors and the wildlife that surrounds them and their home.
Friends will be welcomed at a reception honoring her memory at her home located at 20 Shrewsbury Lane, Aiken, SC on June 12, 2012 from 4PM to 7PM
