Shirley Seymour Watkins

AIKEN, SC - SHIRLEY J. WATKINS, 85, wife of 64 years, of the late Paul Watkins, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Troy, PA, Shirley was the daughter of late Howard and Clara Deery Seymour. She lived most of her life in Horseheads, NY and moved from Sebring, FL to Aiken 9 years ago. Mrs. Watkins was a member of the American Legion Ladies Axillary for 60 years. She was a member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church in New Ellenton. Survivors include 3 daughters, Patricia (Vincent) Maglio, Aiken, SC, Paula Jo (Steven) Peterson, Elmira Heights, NY, and Dawn Johnston, Jackson, SC; 2 sons, Dale (Gloria) Watkins, Cabot, VT, Duane Watkins, Warrenville, SC; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Seymour, Tiffany Brown, Amber Watkins, Michael Watkins, Stephen Watkins, Jason Brown, Matthew Watkins, and Sean Johnston; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Reva) Seymour, Horseheads, NY; and a special friend Mitzy Axon. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's United Methodist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Tresco Shannon officiating.
